Create Device Claim

Create a device claim for devices in your organization (the manufacturer). Your organization is always the source.

Required Scope: write-devices

Overview​

Link devices to the device claim after you create it, at registration (device_claims on Register New Devices) or later (set_device_claim_id on Update Device or Batch Update Devices). When the customer claims the devices, every linked device moves into the customer's organization and is activated in one step.

Requires device claims access on your organization (the can_create_device_claims entitlement). Contact Hubble to request it. Without it: 403 - "originating a device claim requires the can_create_device_claims entitlement for this organization".

Set destination_org_id to assign the device claim to the customer's organization. Leave it unset to create an unassigned device claim: the first organization to present its claim_id can claim the devices, and any organization can resolve its claim_token to that ID. Keep the ID and token of an unassigned device claim secret.
