One practical note: before spending money on any conference, watch that event’s previous years’ recorded talks on YouTube. Most technical conferences publish recordings. Thirty minutes of video tells you more about an event’s culture and depth than any marketing page.
Making Every Conference Count: Before, During, and After
For juniors: prepare a two-sentence self-introduction that includes what you’re working on and what you want to learn. Bring a LinkedIn QR code. Attend at least one hands-on workshop. Set a goal of three meaningful conversations, not badge scans, conversations. Follow up within a week.
